Little hope for Bobbi Kristina Brown's recovery: family

The family of Whitney Houston’s only child says the young woman’s five-month fight for survival is nearing the end.

Bobbi Kristina Brown, 22, never awoke after she was found facedown in a water-filled bathtub at her Georgia home on Jan. 31. A statement from her aunt indicated there’s little hope for recovery.

“Despite the great medical care at numerous facilities, Bobbi Kristina Brown’s condition has continued to deteriorate,” read a statement from her aunt, Pat Houston.

“As of today, she has been moved into hospice care. We thank everyone for their support and prayers. She is in God’s hands now.”

Though doctors quickly offered a dire prognosis to her father, R&B star Bobby Brown, the family opted to keep Bobbi Kristina on life support for months and hope for a miracle.

But the passage of time and the absence of any physical improvement convinced the family to move the unconscious woman into hospice care — generally the last stop for dying patients.

Bobbi Kristina turned 22 on March 4 as relatives kept their increasingly hopeless vigil at her bedside.

Her mother, Grammy-winning diva Whitney Houston, died under bizarrely similar circumstances three years earlier.

Last month, her grandmother Cissy Houston said the comatose woman remained unresponsive.

“She’s not gone yet,” Cissy Houston told “Entertainment Tonight.”

“But you know, whatever the Lord decides, I’m ready for her,” said Whitney Houston’s mother. “I have nothing to do with that. It’s his territory, you know? And I understand that.”
