A pregnant Michigan mother was killed early Wednesday — and police are questioning her boyfriend as a “person of interest,” authorities said.
Dominique O’Neal, 21, had a puncture wound to her body, but investigators haven’t confirmed the cause of death, Muskegon Township Police Chief Kenneth Sanford told the Daily News.
O’Neal, 21, finished a second shift at her nursing home job and returned late Tuesday night to her apartment, MLive reported.
The boyfriend called Muskegon Township cops at 5 a.m. on Wednesday for a medical emergency and directed officers inside when they arrived, authorities said.

Michigan State Police investigate the homicide of Dominique Dashay O'Neal on Wednesday in the Quail Gardens Apartments in Muskegon Township, Mich.
Officers found the hard-working mom, who serves in the Army National Guard, dead along with her unborn child.
Her surviving kids — a baby less than a year old and a 3-year-old — were home at the time, Sanford confirmed.
"It's devastating," O'Neal's father, Terrance Williams, told MLive. "I'm trying to be strong. It ain't real to me yet, because I ain't seen my baby."

Dominique DaShay O’Neal, a 21-year-old found killed on Wednesday in her Michigan home, served in the Army National Guard and worked at a nursing home to take care of her kids, friends say.
A friend claimed the children slept through the killing.
“I’m still in disbelief,” Dee Langston told MLive. “The whole situation is crazy.”
Investigators suspect she’d been dead for a couple of hours before they got there.
