76 years old found floating in Bronx lake

A 76-year-old man who had been reported missing Thursday was later found dead in a Bronx lake, police sources said.

The body of Bernard Madden, of Yonkers, was found floating in Van Cortlandt Park lake at 8:20 p.m., the sources said.



They added the man had been reported missing three hours before his body was found in the Woodlawn Heights park.


Also Thursday, police pulled the body of a man from the Hudson River between Battery Park and Governor's Island.

His identity was not immediately released.

The Medical Examiner was determining the cause of both men's deaths.
