Brooklyn baby died after mom put him down for nap: sources

A 2-month-old baby died Sunday after his mother found him unresponsive in their Brooklyn home, police said.

The infant, whose identity was being withheld, was discovered unconscious by his 24-year-old mother in their home on Park Ave. near Marcus Garvey Blvd., in the Sumner Houses in Bedford-Stuyvesant, at about 3:15 p.m., according to police sources.

The mother had put the child down for a nap shortly before she found him, the sources said.

Emergency responders rushed the infant to Woodhull Hospital, where he died, according to cops.

The child had no visible trauma on his small body and did not have a previous medical history, according to cops.

The city’s medical examiner was investigating the cause of death.
