Couple died an hour apart after sixty yrs wedding anniversary

They're still a match made in heaven.

A Georgia couple who had been happily married and inseparable for 60 years died within hours of each other one day after celebrating their anniversary, their
family said.

Jimmy McLaughlin passed away from a massive heart attack less than a day after his wife JoJo McLaughlin succumbed to pancreatic cancer on Sept. 11.

"You could see the sorrow in his eyes. He didn't want to go on without her," the Savannah couple's eldest daughter Suzanne VonWaldner told Savannah Morning News.

The high school sweethearts, who met in the third grade, married Sept. 10, 1955, when they were both 18 years old, ABC News reported.

In their final moments together, Jimmy embraced his wife and thanked her for the "marvelous life" they shared together with their five children.

"He hugged her and kissed her and told her he didn't know what he was going to do without her," VonWaldner recalled.

JoJo died shortly after midnight. Her devoted husband followed less than 12 hours later.

"I know dad was having a hard time going without her, so they're happy together now, which is how I'd like them to be," VonWaldner said.

The couple's adult children feared how their father would handle the news after JoJo was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in 2014 and she was moved to a hospice in September.

He told the funeral home director that he "might as well make it for two," according to ABC.

"It's hard to believe they're both gone, but I know they're in a better place," VonWaldner said.
