A security barrier outside One World Trade Center meant to prevent vehicles from striking the building stopped a boozed up New Jersey motorist in his tracks, officials said Saturday.
Paul Cederdahl, 47, of Red Bank, N.J., was facing drunken driving charges after he slammed into a barrier outside the
World Trade Center site at Church and Fulton streets about 1:30 p.m. Friday, Port Authority Police said.
Port Authority Police Officer Henri Portner responded and found a black Volvo with Indiana license plates crumpled into a barrier.

An apparently intoxicated Cederdahl, swaying and unable to stand, was trying to get out of the car. A bottle of Svedka Vodka was sitting on the passenger seat, Port Authority Police Department spokesman Joe Pentangelo said.
