An America artist found dead in an Italian apartment.

 American expat was found slain in her bed at an Italian apartment Saturday.

The victim’s boyfriend entered Ashley Olsen’s Florence apartment with the landlord’s help and found the 35-year-old artist with bruising and scratches to
her neck.

Her death is a homicide investigation, although authorities have not determined if she was strangled. There was no apparent sign of a sexual assault or forced entry, according to Italian paper La Nazione.


The unidentified boyfriend said he had not heard from Olsen for several days after the couple fought, the Corriere Della Sera reported.

The victim had been dead for at least one day before he discovered her body in the apartment near the Piazza del Carmine, a public square in the city’s Oltrarno district.

Olsen, a native of Summer Haven, Fla., moved to Florence several years ago to be near her father who teaches at a nearby art school.

Police seized Olsen’s computer hoping to piece together her final moments. She was known among Florence’s art community, along with her beagle named Scout, who was frequently highlighted on Instagram photos.
