Emeka Mba, the DG of Nigerian
Broadcasting Commission (NBC) has been
arrested by the EFCC.
Sources say EFCC had been investigating
the NBC in the past one month, and just last
week, some detectives stormed the
headquarters of the NBC, and ransacked the
computers and files in the Finance and
Account unit.
Some arrested officials of the NBC who were
taken away after the ransacking, implicated
their boss during in their confession to the
EFCC.
Wilson Uwujaren, the EFCC spokesperson,
could not confirm the arrest, when
contacted, but a top official of EFCC said:
“Yes, he (Mr. Mba) is with us. We are
investigating massive diversion of public
funds and we’re making progress. Mba
definitely has questions to answer.”
Report emanated last week also, that the
director of finance of the commission,
Patrick Areh evaded arrest last week when
the operatives of EFCC were said to have
stormed the NBC in a bid to arrest him and
other senior officials, but they were
disappointed as they met their absence
