Military protect unknown tomb in Blizzard

The Tomb of the Unknown Soldier has been guarded for decades, and the soldiers who maintain vigil at the monument aren’t planning to stop for a little snow.

Arlington National Cemetery’s monument to slain service members from World War I, World War II and the Korean War who have not
been identified has been looked after continuously since 1948 by the 3rd U.S. Infantry Regiment.
Sentinels have previously guarded the monument during hurricanes and blizzards such as 2010’s “Snowmaggedon.”

Many in the Old Guard view serving during bad weather to be an honor, and some spend part of their time guarding the site marching rather than in the box.
