A massive four-alarm fire at a Houston warehouse complex sparked several explosions Thursday, and led to the release of hazardous materials into the air, officials said.
Nearly 200 firefighters battled the large blaze, which started at approximately 10 a.m. on Thursday near A-1 Custom Packaging
in west Houston.
The fire started in the backyard of a home before spreading to the warehouse. Despite media reports to the contrary, the fire did not spread to a nearby gun shop, an official with the Houston Fire Department told the Daily News.
Investigators believe pesticides might have been involved, but are waiting to speak with the owners so they can help identify the products involved in the fire.
