Driver strikes Queens man with car after argument

An irate driver hit the gas and purposely struck a 40-year-old man he had just argued with on a Queens street, critically injuring him, police said Monday.

The victim suffered serious head trauma and was in critical condition at Jamaica Hospital.

Police said the incident happened Sunday, about 11:10 p.m., when someone dropped him off on 71st Ave., near 110th St., in Forest Hills.

Another car, possibly a Dodge Magnum, stopped in the street, its driver apparently angry about not being able to pass through.

The driver got out of the car, police said, and argued with the victim.

Then, police said, the driver got back in his car, backed up one car length and hit the gas, speeding up and striking the victim, who fell and struck his head on the ground.

The driver fled the scene and is being sought.
