Nine senior citizens, plus two guards, were shot and injured during an early morning robbery at the Soshanguve Mall in Pretoria, South Africa Wednesday, police said.
Up to 10 suspects stormed the mall as the elderly victims were collecting their pension payouts around 6 a.m., News24 reported. The robbers demanded money from the guards, who gave them a box with an unknown amount of cash inside.
During the robbery, the thugs randomly opened fire on the pensioners, injuring two men and seven women in their lower bodies, the Times reported.

The suspects abandoned a BMW car while fleeing from the scene. Police began a manhunt for them that continued through the morning.
