Facebook just passed an incredible milestone.
CEO Mark Zuckerberg announced Thursday that 1 billion people were using Facebook on Monday, which is the first time in history that happened.
"I'm so proud of our community for the progress we've made," Zuckerberg wrote on his timeline. "Our community stands for giving every person a voice, for promoting understanding and for including everyone in the opportunities of our modern world."

Facebook's accomplishment means that one in every seven people on the planet was logged into the social network on Monday. Facebook reached 1 billion users in 2012. Now the network has1.31 billion monthly active users.
