Customer killes by body guard.

Two male prostitutes kidnapped and killed Chelsea designer John Laubach — their frequent customer — in order to loot his apartment for valuables, a prosecutor argued at their trial Monday.

"This case is about the greed of the defendants and how far the defendants were willing to go to get what they
wanted," Assistant District Attorney Lanita Hobbs said in her opening statement at the trial of Edwin Faulkner and Juan Carlos Martinez-Herrera in Manhattan Supreme Court.

The pair was caught hawking cuff links and other items from Laubach's apartment. One was also caught on tape trying to use his ATM card after they left the 57-year-old for dead in his own home in March 2012, Hobbs argued.

The duo fled to Orlando where they were caught. Laubach was found by a concerned friend bound to a day bed in his living room with duct tape covering his mouth.

His cause of death was asphyxiation.

Hobbs admitted Laubach routinely paid young Hispanic males to come to his home for sex.

Lawyers for the accused killers say Laubach was actually the victim of a rough sex session with the younger men.

"John Laubach died engaged in raw sex for which no one is criminally responsible," Faulkner's attorney Daniel Scott argued in his opening statement.

Martinez-Herrera's lawyer Daniel Parker told the jury: "The evidence will show that after Mr. Laubach died that these two young men did certain things which at first blush might not make sense to you."

"When you hear all of the evidence in this case you will understand not only what they did but why they did it," he added.

They face up to life in prison on the top count, first-degree murder. They are also charged with kidnapping and robbery.
