She just want to eat. NYPD

This escapee just wanted to shop and eat out.

Tiffany Neumann, the 23-year-old who escaped from police custody while handcuffed to a hospital bed, was caught Tuesday morning after a two-day woman-hunt.

During her time on the lam, Neumann socialized at bars in the South Street Seaport, swiped a woman’s credit card and did a little
shopping, the sources said.
Neumann was initially arrested Sunday for allegedly skipping out on a tab at the Hi Life Bar and Grill on the Upper West Side, then shoplifting a T-shirt at a nearby store, cops said.

She told cops who came to arrest her that she was pregnant and that she had an arm injury. They took her to New York-Presbyterian Hospital Lower Manhattan, where she was cuffed to a bed.

But Neumann slipped out of the handcuffs and disappeared about 9:10 p.m.

Tiffany Neumann was recaptured near her upper Manhattan home, cop sources said.

She then hit the town again, just a few blocks away.

This time, she went to the Fresh Salt Bar at 146 Beekman St. and chatted up a man smoking a cigarette outside, police sources said.

The man, whose identity wasn’t revealed, told cops he met her shortly after 9 p.m. and that she joined him with a group of his friends inside.

Later, the group, including Neumann, went to the Fish Market Bar, at 111 South St. They left the joint at midnight, but Neumann stayed behind, the sources said.

At some point, she swiped an iPhone 6 from a woman who was part of the group, the sources said.

After discovering that her iPhone was missing Monday morning, the woman called Chase bank
By then, Chase had flagged suspicious activity on the credit card, the sources said.

Neumann had made two purchases early in the morning — cigarettes, headphones and candy at a lower Manhattan newsstand. She also paid $20 for a cab ride.

Neumann tried to buy something at Forever 21 in Times Square, but the card was declined.

It wasn’t clear what she did for the next 24 hours, but she was re-arrested at her aunt’s home on W. 109th St. at 8:45 a.m. Tuesday after the Manhattan Warrant Squad conducted surveillance there, police sources said.

They caught her walking up to the building’s entrance and arrested her without incident, officials said.

Jessica Artesona, 26, was working at Hi Life Bar when Neuman skipped out on the bill Sunday night.

"She had a beer, a shot and dinner, she ate and after, she said it made her sick so she refused to pay,” Artesona said. “I know she told a bartender she was disgusted by the food and so she left.”
She went from there to the nearby Purdy Girl shop, where she pilfered a shirt from an outside rack, cops said.

Purdy Girl employee Saskia Venet, 22, was in the store when the incident occurred.

"A worker was outside having a cigarette and saw her stealing from the rack,” Venet said. “My co-worker — she's been here longer — she went outside and accused her of stealing.”

She said Neumann curled up in a ball on the ground, yelling “My stomach hurts. I’m pregnant! I’m pregnant!”

“My co-worker grabbed a shirt she was hiding under her shirt,” Venet said. "I called 911 and the cops got here really quickly. She was yelling and resisting arrest. She was saying, 'Police brutality! They're trying to break my arm. I'm six months pregnant!’”

Neumann allegedly shoplifted a T-shirt from the Purdy Girl clothing store shortly afterward.
"One waitress from the bar said, 'You had four drinks with dinner. You're not six months pregnant,'” she said.

Neumann also yelled that her family was “in the Mexican mafia” and threatened, “I’m going to kill you all!”

She was the fourth prisoner to escape from cops since June, and NYPD brass called the incident “embarrassing.”
